Behind the Lens

Maybe we have some things in common?

- I am Christian. I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.

- Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Yep, I’m Canadian and PROUD of it! My mom’s side is all American, from Oklahoma and Texas, and I am just as proud of my American heritage!

- Happily married to the love of my life for 3 years, together for over 5. Our love story goes back to our parents’ days in highschool. Let me tell you about it sometime!

- I have been in love with taking photographs since I was very young. My passion for it is in my blood; my dad, my grandpa, my great grandparents, my uncle, and 2 of my sisters are all wonderful photographers.

- I don’t have any children yet, someday!! In the meantime, my dogs keep us busy and my nieces and nephews melt my heart!

- I try to eat as much organic as possible, though I do have my vices. Mountain Dew, Snickers…

- I’m so proud of my husband! He is prior Air Force and now going to school for Chiropractics!

- I work with cancer patients and I love my job!

- I know what it feels like to trust someone to capture memories you can never get back and everything comes back ruined. I know that gut wrenching feeling, it’s a feeling you can’t even describe. I lost all of my digital photos from a very special day due to just plain negligence. YOU WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE THAT!

- I LOVE to scrapbook! LOVE IT!! I don’t seem to have time for it right now while I work, do my photography, and my husband is in school full time. BUT I promised myself I would start again when we have a baby!

- Another of my side projects include scanning my family’s slides, negatives, polaroids and prints all the way back from the 60s and cataloging them online. It’s a big job, but it makes my heart feel like it’s not so far away from home.

- My father passed away in 2005 from a pulmonary embolism resulting from DVT. I feel the loss every day, but not as much as I feel his presence with me. He is my inspiration!

- I may live in Texas right now, but I feel most at home in the Alberta Rockies.

- I love the feeling of going through frames after a session and being able to see the love my clients have within their families. It fills my heart with warm fuzzies!!

- I am not perfect. I am human and make mistakes, but I acknowledge my mistakes and learn from them. Is there any other way to get through this crazy wonderful beautiful life?
