All Session Info

Newborns:

A full newborn session takes between 3 – 4 hours to allow time for changing, feeding, sleeping, awake time and general fussiness in between getting all the different kinds of shots we want to get. Over that course of time we will take approx 300+ frames. The time goes by quickly and here are some ways you can be ready:

  • Don’t stress out. Babies run on their own schedules and I work around them. So if you’re feeding when I get there and it’ll take another half an hour, it’s easier to work with a baby with a full tummy than constantly wanting snack breaks.
  • Please make sure that your home is tidy and neat as possible so that way we can use any room dependent on where the light is coming in. The most important room to be tidy is the master bedroom.
  • Pick out some favorite items beforehnd which you like and mean something to you or you would like in the photos. From blankets to stuffed animals to the family Bible, anything.
  • Please limit the only persons in the home at the time of the session to parents and baby. Older siblings are welcome to be in the photos but are asked if at all possible to be either out of the home or attended to by a babysitter until the last hour of the session. This also includes out of town guests unless approved beforehand.
  • Please do not put lotion or cream on your baby beforehand. This will make her/him really shiney and that is not the look we want.

Regular Sessions:

All I ask that you bring to the session is fun. Just have fun and be relaxed, it’s the best way to capture the true you! Some hints at what clothes to wear:

  • Please avoid bright solid red and yellow. These colors do not photograph well and take the attention away from you, the centerpiece!
  • Try to coordinate a color scheme in your family’s attire so you’ll compliment each other.
  • Choose colors that bring out the color in your eyes.
  • Avoid tight clothing but not too lose so to avoid the shape of your body. If you feel good in what you wear, your esteem will show in your photos.
